While on-demand video and audio have long been staples, live streaming via platforms like Twitch and YouTube Live are gaining significant traction, evidenced by massive consumption hours and a growing creator base. These platforms present unique opportunities for engaging students and fostering a more fluid interaction between formal, informal, and non-formal educational contexts. Video repositories, such as YouTube, continue to be invaluable for accessing and distributing educational content, supporting diverse fields from music to audiovisual culture. Podcasts, characterized by their accessibility and compatibility with other activities, provide an intimate connection with content creators and have demonstrated their utility in supporting learning environments, enhancing student interest and satisfaction in higher education.

An evaluation of the "¡Mira!" project's impact involved surveying 139 students to understand their platform preferences and perceptions. The findings revealed a clear dominance of YouTube as the primary platform for content consumption, with 82% of students utilizing it. Twitch followed with 13%, and Spotify accounted for 5%. This distribution highlights YouTube's established presence and accessibility for educational video content. While Twitch's user base for this project was smaller, it offered a distinct interactive experience that contributed to higher perceived learning outcomes, suggesting that the real-time engagement facilitated by live streaming can be a powerful pedagogical tool.
