Adobe has unveiled groundbreaking AI innovations for Adobe Acrobat, revolutionizing the way users interact with digital documents. Starting June 18, 2024, Acrobat customers will have access to Adobe Firefly-powered features that allow for image creation and editing directly within PDFs. This marks a significant milestone as Acrobat becomes the first PDF solution to offer in-app generative image capabilities. Additionally, the Acrobat AI Assistant has been enhanced to support multi-document analysis and content creation across various file types, including PDFs, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and text documents.

The integration of Adobe Firefly into Acrobat brings two major features: Edit Image and Generate Image. Edit Image provides users with tools like Generative Fill, Remove Background, Erase, and Crop, enabling easy manipulation of existing images within PDFs. Generate Image allows users to create new, high-quality images directly in their documents using text prompts. These features empower users to enhance their PDFs with visually appealing content without requiring extensive design skills. For instance, sales teams can add impactful images to business plans, entrepreneurs can customize pitch decks, and small business owners can update promotional materials effortlessly.

The Acrobat AI Assistant now offers advanced functionalities to boost productivity. Adobe is offering free, full access to all Acrobat AI Assistant features from June 18 to June 28, 2024. After this period, customers can purchase an AI Assistant add-on subscription, with early access pricing starting at $4.99 per month until September 4. The AI Assistant is available on desktop, web, and mobile in English, with other languages to follow. Acrobat Standard and Pro customers will receive 250 generative credits per month for Edit Image and Generate Image features at no additional cost for a limited time. These image-related features will initially be available in English on desktop.
